Shelly joined us to discuss opportunities for us to partner with Camp Thorpe for an event. We discussed possibly something this Fall. Possibly a community dinner. Shelly will let us know what weekends might be open. We discussed doing it as a donation vs a set price and earmarking the proceeds for a specific project to benefit the camp. We discussed some history from the camp. 100th anniversary is coming up. Camp was originally a Polio camp. There are articles available on newspaper.com.
Shelly mentioned that they will be doing a fundraiser Dirty Dancing themed weekend (August 23rd, 2025) where people can stay onsite. They will be hosting events similar to those from the movie (ie: dance lessons, lawn games, etc.) as well as hosting a screening of the film.
Old Business:
Ben is still working to finalize the Blueberry Hill sign with Sherry. The packet was updated and just needs her signature. Once complete, we will look at doing a dedication and article.
Signs- Still pending install. Ken Brown will work on them. Mailbox spikes are on order from Ace Hardware.
T-shirts are available for purchase. Erin will post a notice on FaceBook and the website.
